There are lost ruins somewhere on the island, and your expedition is not going to discover them by sitting at camp. In Lost Ruins of Arnak, you send explorers into unknown territory, uncover sites and strange guardians, and bring back the resources that make deeper research possible.
One more discovery, or one more step on the research track?
The game combines worker placement and deck-building. Cards help you gather resources, travel or prepare for the challenges ahead. Placing an explorer might reveal something valuable, but it also uses an action you cannot spend elsewhere.
The appeal is in the trade-offs
Every turn presents more useful opportunities than you can pursue. A newly acquired card might make your next round easier, while a clever research advance could put you ahead of a rival expedition. The best feeling is making those plans support one another.
